Youth Market Vendors Needed

This summer, students entering grades 6-12 can sell art, crafts, produce, or baked goods at the Clinton Farmer’s Market. Market dates will be June 27, July 25, and August 22 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. For more details and to apply, email clinton@midyork.org.

New Procedure For Book Donations

Thanks to the generosity of people donating their books this year, our Friends Committee members have been moving A LOT of books. They are re-opening for donations on May 15 – with a new procedure.

If you are a Town of Kirkland resident, they will happily accept donations of your “like new,” in sellable condition books, DVDs, and CDs.

If you don’t live in Kirkland, you must have a Mid York Library System card and have the Kirkland Town Library as your home library. They will happily accept your items with a $10 donation to offset our costs.

Book donations will only be accepted when the library is open. Donations should be in sturdy bags or boxes that weigh 30 lbs. or less.

When you come, please stop in at the front desk to gain access to the donation shed. Any items left outside or on the library’s back porch cause a huge headache for staff. They will either be returned to you or immediately thrown away. Please note that staff are not able to help with any unloading/carrying of donation boxes.

Thank you for your understanding as we sort and organize the donations for the sale on July 12, 13 & 14.

One School, One Book

Our friends at Clinton Elementary School are all reading Katherine Applegate’s “The One and Only Ivan” from May 17 through June 13. Let’s read along with them! Stop by the KTL to pick up a copy of the book. When you’re done, share a message with students on a big sign.

Show your love for the KTL

Thanks to a generous benefactor, our popular “I Support our Kirkland Town Library” lawn signs are back! Signs are available for a $10 donation – and then it’s yours to keep and display through the years. As a reminder, the library budget vote will be on Tuesday, May 21 from 12-8 p.m. in the CCS Theater Lobby. Supplies are limited; stop in now to get your sign.
