Want to share your
thoughts on books?

We thought it would be fun to let our readers have a chance to share your love of books and the Library with more than just those in your home. So, we’re looking to add some new voices to our Library Lines column which runs in the Waterville Times!

Maybe you’re a parent/child team who wants to write about books you’ve read together. Maybe you have an interest in a particular genre. Maybe your book group wants to do a column. As long as it’s about books or reading, the exact subject is up to you! Click here to view an archive of past columns.

If you’re interested in seeing your book recs in print, send an email to clinton@midyork.org.

ps– you don’t need to be an English major 🙂

Messages from Survivors:
One Family’s Holocaust Legacy

On view in January

This interactive display, on loan from the Central New York Library Resources Council, will be on view in the Bristol Room throughout January. Each of the six informational panels shares stories and messages from one Jewish family and includes a QR code linked to a corresponding video. Visitors can also take home a shoe box card with photos, a video QR code, and a message from the survivor(s) that was purposefully shared for future generations to hear.

Hannaford Bloomin’ For Good

Throughout the month of January, the KTL will receive a $1 donation for every Bloomin’ 4 Good Bouquet with the red circle sticker purchased at the Clinton Hannaford. Flowers can make someone’s day, spread smiles, and brighten up a room. This month, they can also help the Library. A bouquet of flowers is a great gift. The Bloomin’ 4 Good Bouquets with the red circle sticker are located in the floral section of the store.

New This Winter – Borrow a Kicksled

Kicksleds consist of a chair mounted on a pair of flexible metal runners that extend backward to about twice the chair’s length. Someone can sit in the chair while someone else propels the sled by kicking the ground by foot. We have five different sizes for you to choose from (size is based on the height of the user from 3’3” to taller than 6’). Stop in to borrow one and enjoy the snow!
